26-01 Residential Fire

This 10-Minute Training Tactical Decision Game presents a first-arriving officer with a realistic residential structure fire scenario. Participants must rapidly assess conditions, identify critical cues, and establish an initial strategy while operating under time pressure and incomplete information.

This training focuses on:
– Initial size-up and cue recognition
– Strategy selection and risk assessment
– Fire behavior or hazard indicators and operational implications
– Tactical priorities and resource deployment
– Command presence and operational communication

The exercise is designed for company officers and is suitable for company-level training, officer development programs, and command competency workshops. It supports facilitated discussion using recognition-primed decision-making and naturalistic decision-making principles.

The downloadable PDF includes the scenario narrative, visual cues (when applicable), participant questions, and an additional learning section with recommended follow-on training activities related to the focus of the scenario.
